The Hawks entered their matchup against Thomas Jefferson undefeated in section play. They left still undefeated, even though they didn’t score a goal.
Well, neither did the Jaguars score a goal.
The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Hawks had a few good chances in the first half, but they couldn’t sneak any past TJ’s goalkeeper.
Bethel’s own goalkeeper Luke Rubican returned the favor and remained stubborn in the net as well.
The second half saw the same kind of play, and when the horn sounded, the game was knotted at 0 and headed to overtime.
At the end of two overtime periods, the game was still tied. And that’s how it would stay.
The Hawks defeated Thomas Jefferson 2-1 on Aug. 29, so they still remain in first place in Section 3-3A.
Next up for the boys is Trinity on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at home. The last time the two teams met, the Hawks won 3-0.
