While the Steelers were playing host to the Browns on Monday Night Football, the Lady Hawks were entertaining Canon-McMillan in a section matchup on Youth Night.
It was a great atmosphere, and the girls had their fair share of chances, but they couldn’t capitalize. When the final horn blew, the Lady Hawks had succumbed 2-0 to the Lady Big Macs.
While the game mostly took place in the defensive end of the field, Grace Ferency fired off a good shot in the first half, but the ball didn’t find its way into the back of the net. At halftime, the Big Macs led 1-0.
Sydney Felicetti had a couple of good opportunities, too, throughout the game.
Despite the effort, the girls couldn’t infiltrate the Lady Big Macs’ defense and goalkeeping.
The Lady Hawks (4-4-1, 3-4) look forward to their second matchup of the season against Norwin which is scheduled for next Monday, Sept. 25 in Knights’ territory.
The last time the two teams met, the Lady Hawks won 4-2.
