The BPHS gymnasium is home to the Black Hawks. During the winter, the indoor track team often practices above the gym along the track.

The girls distance medley relay (DMR) team finished 34 seconds ahead of the rest of the field at the TSTCA Meet #2 at Edinboro University on Friday, Jan. 14. Senior Maddie Sellati got the team started in the 1200-meter run while sophomore Artemis Conaboy followed with a 400-meter dash. She handed the baton off to junior Katie Krol-Schaus who ran 800 meters. Sophomore Jenna Lang anchored the team with the 1600-meter run.

This was the indoor track team’s first competition as the first TSTCA Meet was canceled due to COVID concerns.

The DMR wasn’t the only event the Lady Hawks succeeded in.

Conaboy finished sixth in the 60-meter dash and eighth in 200-meter dash.

Lang placed fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Sellati finished in eighth place in the 800-meter run.

In the pole vault, senior Olivia Underwood and Krol-Schaus placed fourth and fifth respectively.

On the boys end, junior Jack Reilly finished eighth in the 60-meter dash and fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Senior Colin Downing placed fourth in the shot put.

The pole vaulters and throwers have a meet at Hempfield Tuesday night while the entire team travels to Edinboro on Saturday for the TSTCA Meet #3.
