Athlete Spotlight: Owen Peters

Owen Peters, otherwise known as a “brick wall,” is a junior at BPHS. Peters, No. 1 on the field, is a standout All-American goalie for the varsity lacrosse team. 

Owen has been playing lacrosse since fifth grade and started off playing goalie. Peters has a niche as a goalie and played up during his middle school years.

Peters has been playing varsity lacrosse since freshman year and started for the Hawks in the playoffs that year.

During the 2021 season, Peters, in 16 games, had an outstanding season with 182 saves and a 62 save percentage. With these statistics, Owen won All-WPIAL, All-Section, and All-American.

In the summer, Owen plays for The Dukes Lacrosse Club, which is a very competitive club team.

Owens’ favorite lacrosse memory is playing Mt. Lebanon in middle school and having 32 saves.

Peters has yet to announce where he wants to attend college, but he plans to play in college to continue his athletic and academic career. Owen plans to major in sports management and hopefully get a job in the professional sports industry.
