NBA starting again

This past week, we found out that sports would resume soon. Although no fans will be allowed in the stadiums, at least sports are on their way back.

The NBA has made a plan that they will begin to play again on July 31. The plan will include 22 teams who will each play eight regular-season games. This includes 13 Western Conference teams and nine Eastern Conference teams. The games will all take place in Orlando at Disney.

After these games, the playoffs will begin.  The playoffs will include the top eight teams from each conference. The No. 1 seed and the No. 8 seed from each conference will play each other. No. 2 plays No. 7, No. 3 plays No. 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5.

This new system should work pretty smoothly. One speculation of why there are more Western Conference teams compared to the Eastern Conference is so that the Pelicans could be involved in the system somehow.

They want the Pelicans to be involved because they have the electric rookie Zion Williamson. He is a fan-favorite who brings excitement and attention to the NBA.

This year will be a bit of a different way of playing. No matter who wins, this year will always be remembered as a weird and different year. Since many teams don’t get the chance to fight for the playoffs with the shortened season, many teams are going to be upset, but you can’t make everyone happy.

The NBA will lose a lot of revenue since no fans will be allowed to be at the stadiums. This means that the players will have to receive less money as well.

The games will likely have to be played all day, which is great for fans because they can only play at one location.  This means that basketball will be on all day when it comes back.

The NBA is the first sport to have a deal made and a plan put in place to return. You can expect more sports to follow up soon.
