Anthony Chiccitt looks to field a ball during a baseball game this year.

The baseball team starts off their season Tuesday by battling against the Seneca Valley Raiders. The game will take place at Purkey Field at 4 p.m.

The boys are ready to hit the field with their aspirations of section and WPIAL championships.

When asked junior catcher Brandon Cole on his outlook for the year, he simply stated, “We are all excited to play on the Purk this year.” He says that every time they hit the field as a team, “Our goal is to try and score more runs than the team we play every game and be as electric as possible.”

The boys have a tough match against the Raiders as the Post-Gazette ranked them No. 4 and the Hawks No. 3 in the WPIAL.

Junior shortstop Anthony Chiccitt has a positive outlook for this season. “We’re looking forward to finally being able to play against a good team. Should be a good game, and we’re looking to start the season on a high note with a win,” he said.

The game was originally scheduled for Monday but was postponed to Tuesday due to rain. Cole’s opinion on the matter is to, “Invest in turf so we would never get rained out again.”

Come out and support the boys as they look to start their run for an amazing season!
