Head Coach Jonna Burke discusses strategy with her Lady Hawks during their game against West Allegheny on Jan. 26.

The Lady Hawks entered the final night of the regular season looking to keep their undefeated non-section record intact.

They did just that.

The Lady Hawks defeated 4A WPIAL powerhouse North Catholic 59-52. Sophomore guard Liv Westphal led all scorers with 28.

A star-studded roster on both sides made for a can’t-miss event. Combined, the two teams have five Division 1 recruits.

Junior forward Maddie Dziezgowski recently received an offer from St. Bonaventure; Liv Westphal holds offers from Akron, Duquesne, and Binghamton; and senior Maria Cerro is headed to Division 2 powerhouse IUP.

For North Catholic, senior Dani Short received an offer from Brown; senior Tess Myers received offers from LaSalle, Charlotte, Kent State, and Niagra; and junior Kylee Lewandowski has scholarship offers from Xavier, Bucknell, Marshall, and Quinnipiac.

The Lady Hawks finish the season with a record of 20-2.

Looking ahead to the playoffs, the Hawks are projected to get the No. 3 or No. 4 seed in the eight-team race for the title.

Good luck to the Lady Hawks in their push for the Championship!
