The Lady Hawks slap hands with their coaches during their game against USC on Thursday, Jan. 25.

The Lady Hawks defeated the Connellsville Falcons 59-17 at The Nest on Monday night.

The girls team came out strong in the first half and went on a 29-6 run. They only let the Falcons score 10 points in the first and seven in the second half. A big factor of this win was that the Lady Hawks outrebounded the Falcons, 45-20.

“I thought it was a solid team section win after a tough loss,” said junior guard Juliana Carbone.

The leading scorers of Monday night’s game were Olivia Westphal with 17, Maddie Dziezgowski with 17, and Maria Cerro with 10.

Your Lady Hawks are now 9-1 and 4-1 in their section. Their next matchup is Thursday night against the Big Macs at Cannon Mac at 7:30 p.m. Go Hawks!
