On Thursday and Friday, the girls and boys basketball teams respectively will face the Indians of Peters Township. Both games are key section matchups. The Lady Hawks are going into this game 8-0 and the boys team is 7-2.

Last year, the Lady Hawks faced Peters township four times. Sadly, they lost three out of the four times, but their win helped them advance in the state playoffs. The Lady Hawks are hoping to pull out a big win on Thursday.

“The biggest thing we have to focus on this game is rebounding and not letting them get second chances,” said Junior guard Lauren Mullen.

In the previous season, the boys team defeated the Indians twice. Both those wins last year helped keep Peters out of the playoffs. The Hawks are trying to create a repeat of last year.

Junior point guard Ryan Meis said, “I’m excited to play. I hope there is a great crowd and atmosphere.”

These are both big section games for the basketball teams. The girls play on Thursday at The Nest at 7:30 p.m. The boys play at Peters Township on Friday, and the tip is at 7:30 p.m. as well. Come show some love for these teams as they hope to win a key section matchup!
