Lady Hawks fend off Panthers

On Monday, Dec. 17, the Lady Hawks defeated USC 48-39 at The Nest. That win made the Lady Hawks 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the section.
After the first half of play, the Hawks were up 30-13. The 3rd quarter was a different story for the Hawks. The Panthers outscored the Hawks 17-4 in the 3rd, making the score 34-30. The Hawks quickly responded winning with the final score of 48-39.
High scorers were sophomore guard Olivia Westphal with 14 points and junior forward Maddie Dziezgowski who added 13 points.
“It was a solid team section win,” said junior Juliana Carbone.
The Lady Hawks will face Mt. Lebanon on Thursday, Dec. 20 at Mt. Lebanon High School. Come and cheer on the Lady Hawks as they look to get their 3rd section win.
