Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry skates down the ice to join his teammates in celebrating their overtime win over the New York Islanders, Saturday, March 3, 2018, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

After a four-game Canadian road trip, the 5X Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins return home on Tuesday, Oct. 30 to face the New York Islanders on a “Halloween Theme Night” at 7 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.

Fans are invited to wear their costumes and enter the Halloween costume contest in which they can win Penguins jerseys. Two fans will be selected each period. Click here for more Halloween-themed activities planned for the game.

The New York Islanders had an unexpected 2017- 2018 season as they missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season.  The Islanders finished the 2017-2018 season with 80 points and were in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division which consisted of 35 wins, 27 losses, and 10 overtime losses.

The Islanders are finishing up a brief three-game road trip that went through Philly on Saturday (W 6-1), Carolina on Sunday (W 2-1), and now Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. They are 5-4-1 and in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Penguins are off to a great 2018-2019 season start and just returning from a Canadian road trip where they went 4-0 including a huge 9-1 win against the Flames on October 25. They are 6-1-2 and in first place in the Metropolitan Division.

When Tuesday night comes around, the Penguins and the Islanders will play for the first time this season, then they will play each other again in New York on Nov. 1. And then, they will play each other two more times.  Even without Tavares for the Islanders, it should be an entertaining game on Tuesday night, “Halloween Theme Night,” in Pittsburgh.
