Hawks win the border bash against the USC Panthers

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the boys varsity basketball team faced their rival Upper Saint Clair at The Nest.

The Hawks won their previous encounter with the Panthers on Jan. 2 by a score of 66-60.

At halftime, the Hawks were up 22-17.

They held their lead throughout the second half and finished with the 49-38 victory.

The high scorer was sophomore guard Ryan Meis with 26.

“We stuck together and had confidence in each other,” said Meis.

With the win, the Hawks are now 6-2 in their section and sit in 3rd place behind Mt. Lebanon and Canon Mac.

Their next game is on Friday, Jan. 26 against Mt.Lebanon. The Hawks have a chance to move into second place in their section. In their previous game against Mt. Lebanon on Dec. 22, they lost 80-46 but were missing some key players.
