Girls’ lacrosse preview
Last year, girls’ lacrosse had the best season the school has seen in at least two years. The team had defeated Shaler, the 2X WPIAL champions, in the first round of playoffs. They fell to Mars Area in the semi-finals.
The team graduated only three seniors. This season, the Black Hawks will be returning 13 players including nine starters.
In response to how she feels the team will fare this season, senior star lax player Cameron Happe said, “Probably not better than last year.”
“I’m ready,” said returning player and senior Zoe Zilcosky.
Due to the new section configuration, BPHS will be moving up from Division 2 to
Division 1.
They will be competing against Upper Saint Clair, Peters Township, Canon McMillan, Baldwin, Allderdice, and the 2016 Division 1 WPIAL champions Mt. Lebanon.
