Ultimate Frisbee Team falls to Central Catholic in championship

On Tuesday, May 26, the Ultimate Frisbee Team lost to Central Catholic, 15-11, in the championship game.

Up until this game, the team was undefeated and was rolling past every team they played. (Even Central Catholic earlier in the season)

Last year the team also reached the championship but failed to win then too.

This year though it was different as some of the seniors really wanted to win the whole thing as it was their last chance. However, they may have wanted it too much.

Substitutions never took place throughout the game. When asked by the coach if they were tired, some of the very talented players denied and played literally throughout the entire game. This worked out earlier in the game as they were able to earn a multiple point lead against Central Catholic. But then it was very evident that most of the starters were very fatigued as Central Catholic put up a 6-0 run to get to the half.

As the ninety minute cap was coming to an end, the BP coach ran across the field after a point and consulted the other coach. They decided to take off the cap as Bethel Park started to show signs of a chance to comeback near the end. But in the end, the valiant season came to an end as Central Catholic finished off the game strong.

Unfortunately, the seniors were not able to win the championship. They should be happy as they were successful throughout the entire season and set an example for the players that would return for next year and compete again hopefully with better results. Of course that would mean wining the whole thing.
