It’s almost that time of year, the homecoming dance is right around the corner!
This year’s theme is Enchanted Forest.
To kick off the homecoming spirit, BPHS hosts a yearly door decorating contest at school. Typically, students decorate their homeroom door with a theme related to the dance.
This year, however, will be different. It has now changed to a homecoming rotunda decorating contest.
Each grade will come together to decorate its floor’s rotunda with a different theme.
The senior’s theme is Enchanted Forest. The junior’s theme is “Alice in Wonderland.” The sophomore’s theme is “The Princess and the Frog.” Lastly, the freshman’s theme is “Snow White.”
Tickets for homecoming went on sale on Monday, Sept. 15. Students can find the link in their email.
Make sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible, because you will not be able to buy any after Sept 26.
There will be an assembly held on Friday, Sept 26. The assembly will include games, homecoming court announcements, and maybe even a Marching Band performance. Students should wear their favorite black and orange attire for the assembly.
Currently, clubs and sports are voting on their homecoming court nominations. Each club will choose one or two candidates.
The nominees will be showcased at the assembly, and the top ten finalists will be announced.
As usual, BPHS will have Spirit Days the week before homecoming. The days will be as follows:
9/29: Magical (Wear Pastels)
9/30: Seeing Double (Twin Day)
10/1: Aging Spell (Freshman: Babies, Sophomores: Toddlers, Juniors: Adults, Seniors: Senior Citizens)
10/2: Wildflower (Pattern)
10/3: USA Day
The homecoming parade will be on Oct. 3 and will start at 5:30 p.m.
The BPHS Marching Band, cheerleaders, girls tennis, and even more organizations will be participating.
The dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the BPHS cafeteria. It will last from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Elizabeth Corrins, from the homecoming committee, said, “It is a fun experience and you can make once-in-a-lifetime memories.”
Whether you are going with a date or friends, make sure to purchase tickets and participate in all the fun activities that are being held!
