With the absence of the Haunted Courtyard, students will be looking for another way to get a scare.

Fortunately, they don’t have to look far.  PACS is hosting the first ever Ghoul Fest Dance, a Glow-in-the-dark Halloween themed dance, on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The cost is $15 a person or $25 a couple, so if you have a boo, you get a discount.

Students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and/or glow outfits. But no masks are allowed!  Face paint is permitted, though.

There will be Brusters milkshakes, Chick-fil-a, and drinks FOR FREE.

Students can get their pictures taken in the photo booth.

Art Club will be there to do special effects (scars, cuts, etc.).

Also, a $100 prize will be awarded to whoever has the best costume.

When asked if they missed the Haunted Courtyard, senior Mackenzie Volpatti said, “I’m mad, I enjoyed the Haunted Courtyard after Friday night home football games. It also got me in the spooky mood for Halloween.”

“Yes, because I did make up for the Haunted Courtyard,” said senior Julia Mascaro.

When asked if they’ll attend the dance, junior Parker Loera said, “No, but if you are going, have a good time.”

Senior Luke Surunis said, “Undecided, but I’m curious to the see the turnout, could be a thing, just got to wait and see.”

The gym is loud. The crowd is cheering. The stands are filled with hundreds of fans. On Tuesdays and Fridays in the high school gym is where you will find Logan Wright playing basketball.

Logan Wright is a sophomore and in his second year writing for Hawk Eye. He joined this class by the recommendation of Mr. Knapp. Logan is planning on bringing fantastic sports articles to this year’s paper.

If you don’t see him working on his articles, you can probably find him in the gym practicing basketball. Logan is part of the high school basketball team coached by Josh Bears. After high school, Logan is planning on attending college, but he doesn’t plan on pursuing journalism.

If Logan could have any superpower, “I would like to be invisible, so no one could see me,” he said.

An ideal date for Logan would be “dinner and a movie.

If Logan could go on vacation to anywhere in the world, he said, “I would most likely go to Jamaica to see all the variety of colors.”

Make sure you check Hawk Eye after the sports games to read all of Logan’s great sports articles.

I am so sad the courtyard is gone, but hopefully the dance is good.
