Life Skills students experience prom
They slapped on a pair of dancing shoes and got their best dressed for an unforgettable night of friends, laughter, and fun.
On Thursday, May 4, the annual Life Skills prom at Doubletree in Meadowland was held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event was planned by Baldwin High School, containing approximately 300 students from schools like: Carlynton, Keystone Oaks, Belle Vernon, South Fayette, Washington High, Montour, Peters Township, Moon, South Allegheny, Baldwin, Avonworth, Upper St. Clair, Chartiers Valley, and Elizabeth Forward.
Students attending from Bethel Park included: Jessica Davis, Jessica Greene, Lauren Wycinsky, Hannah Conroy, Melizza Szabo, Ellie McGregor, Thomas Zoldos, Andrew Dixon, and Nolan Rosemeir.
Staff members also attended, including: Julie Hernandez, Amber Haefner, Deb Ruffing and Sharon Smith.
BPHS students attending seemed extremely excited as they waited to board the bus early that morning. They even wished to give a special thanks to Mrs. Ruffing’s daughters who allowed them to borrow her old dresses.
Deb Ruffing, one of the staff members attending, even mentioned all the accommodations and daily agenda for the afternoon.
“They have music, dancing, characters, food, a prom queen and king, maybe even a photo booth and magician.”
On Bethel Park’s prom court, Ellie McGregor and Andrew Dixon were nominated, however were not crowned king or queen.
Overall, it was a truly spectacular event and even senior Ellie McGregor mentioned how fun it was.
