BPHS hosts R.E.A.C.H spirit assembly

On Friday, Sept. 17, BPHS held a R.E.A.C.H spirit assembly towards the end of the day in the gymnasium, which lasted for about an hour. Both students and teachers participated in a variety of activities in the assembly, which included an egg race, a chariot race, and a teacher TP.

Before the assembly started, students and teachers were called to the gymnasium by floors. Dr. J instructed students to sit by grade level.

Once a vast majority of the students had arrived and taken their seats, the school’s marching band started playing a song while marching in place, though some of them moved around a little bit.

The cheerleaders performed next over blue mats towards the back of the gymnasium.

The first activity was the egg race, which consisted of people running from one end of the gymnasium to the other with a plastic egg on a plastic spoon. They all dropped it at least once during the event, while some of them ended up holding the egg. The freshmen won this event.

The next activity was the chariot race. The idea of the event was for one person to pull another on a beach towel from one end of the gymnasium to the other and then back to the starting point. Most participants overlooked the last instruction to turn back, allowing the seniors, who remembered, to win the race.

The final activity was the teacher TP. The goal of the activity was to wrap your favorite teacher in toilet paper. The teachers involved in this activity were: Mr. Santora, Mr. Travis, Mr. Allemang, Mr. Casagranda, and Mr. Triscilla. The event ended with the juniors winning and the teachers walking off covered in toilet paper and dragging it along.

Before the assembly was dismissed, the cheer “Let’s go Black Hawks,” was divided among the grade levels.
