Taylor Swift surprises BPHS students with graduation gift

Saturday, June 6 was a busy day for many people in the Pittsburgh area. There were graduation ceremonies, graduation parties, and the Three Rivers Arts Festival. Even with all of these events going on, 55,000 people arrived at Heinz Field that night to watch the Taylor Swift Concert.

Taylor Scalise, Krista Vandyke, and Mallory Wright graduated from BPHS earlier that day, and they still attended the concert. To celebrate their graduation, they decided to wear their graduation caps to the concert.

After Shawn Mendez and Vance Joy performed the opening acts, it was Taylor Swift’s turn to take the stage. Two songs before her performance, a man walked past Scalise, Vandyke, and Wright, and then came back to ask the girls if they graduated today. Obviously, they answered, “Yes.” Then, he asked them if they wanted a graduation present from Taylor, and they said, “Yes!” The man then put green wristbands on their wrists, took them to the pit, and told them to have fun.

Hence, Swift’s graduation gift to the girls was moving their seats to the pit. They were able to enjoy her whole performance from seats people can only dream of having.

Scalise said, “I had the best day ever! Every good thing you hear about Taylor Swift is true, she is so amazing to her fans.”

No matter if fans sat in the pit or section 510, it was a memorable concert for many people.

Swift’s random acts of kindness surprise people from all over the country, and it is amazing that her and her crew were able to surprise three BPHS graduates.
