Race for the Cure to take place on Sunday, May 8

On Sunday, May 8, the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take place at Schenley Park Flagstaff Hill.

Susan G. Komen, Pittsburgh is a non-profit, breast cancer organization that provides programs to 34 counties in western and central Pennsylvania to help inform people about cancer and how much it can affect you.

In the state of Pennsylvania, a total of 28,700 people have died due to cancer according to www.cancer.org. But breast cancer has taken 1,940 lives which makes it #4 on the list of cancerous deaths in PA.

To try and stop this vicious disease, there have been many races and activities around the globe to help raise money for cancer research funds. But, sadly, the cure has still not been found.
