Abby Lee Miller indicted for bankruptcy fraud

Abby Lee Miller, dance teacher from the reality show Dance Moms, is now in court facing a 20-count indictment from a federal grand jury on charges of fraud.

She pleaded not guilty.

Ms. Miller faces up to five years in prison, as well as up to $5 million in fines. Each indictment carries a possible $250,000 fine.

She filed for bankruptcy back in December 2010 before Dance Moms premiered. She got a break with the show airing in 2011 and becoming popular.  The debt is mostly real estate including the building she runs the dance company in.

It is unclear whether Dance Moms Season 6 will air, although they have started filming for it.

“Lifetime is a little in arrears on their payment plan with me personally, and so I think that will have to be taken care of first before we talk about Season 6,” Ms. Miller said in an interview with ET.
