Fun facts about spring
Spring is here! So are some fun facts about this terrific time of year.
- A study found that, at least in the Colorado Rocky Mountain region, spring starts about three weeks earlier than it did in the 1970s.
- The first spring flowers are, most of the time, lilacs, irises, lilies, tulips, daffodils, and dandelions.
- Despite the fact that some people don’t like to feed birds in spring during spring migration, a feeder could be a good source of food for traveling birds.
- For the Japanese, the opening of the cherry blossom in March or April signals the start of spring.
- In the Southern Hemisphere, spring lasts from August through November
- Children actually grow faster in the spring than during other times of the year!
