The Summer of 2013 is approaching, which means it is time to get off your couch, start eating healthy, and exercise your body.
Everybody wants to look the part for the summer time but not a lot of people know what is necessary to obtain a summer body while becoming healthy. Working out, eating healthy foods, and resting your body are the three main ingredients to becoming fit!
To start, working out is a great way to maintain a great figure. Working out does not only mean “hitting” the weight room because it can also mean running outside, yoga, swimming (laps), aerobics, or even Zumba!
Anything is better than being a loafer and sitting on your couch letting precious time pass you by. Being a “couch potato” should not be in your list of occupations.
Furthermore, what you eat can really sway how your figure turns out. Try not to consume too many fats and sweets, a.k.a. “junk foods”, because tons of sugar does nothing good for your body.
Instead, try some healthier fast food such as Quizno’s Flatbread Sammies or McDonald’s Southwest Salad with grilled chicken. Not all fast food is greasy and bad for you.
Another great choice of food for a healthy diet is a diet-friendly dessert. Yes, not all desserts are fattening and make you feel guilty. Any lower-calorie and portion-controlled sweet can be a part of a weight-loss diet.
Some examples include Skinny Cow Ice-Cream cones, Fudgsicles, Hershey’s 100-Calorie Wafer Bars, Teddy Grahams, or even just Graham Crackers.
Just because foods are labeled as a “sweet” does not necessarily mean they are not edible to eat while on a diet or completely fattening.
Lastly, remember to rest up! Sleep is a human need and it is most important when one works out a ton. Staying up until late hours of the night does not fall under the “healthy” category. At least obtain 8-10 hours for a good night’s rest to wake up in the morning and feel replenished not drained.
Do not be that lazy loafer when Summer 2013 hits! Get up, go exercise, and start eating right! The end results will only benefit you!
