The small restaurant Bennichopsticks is a tiny masterpiece hidden away in a strip mall found in Mcmurray. It’s a Chinese and Japanese restaurant with hundreds of delicious menu options.

Who knew the most authentic, fresh, Japanese cuisine was hiding in plain sight right in Pittsburgh! My family and I order this restaurant’s sushi platter every month for a treat, and it is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.

Apart from the makeshift crab, the entire platter has real and incredibly tasty sushi and sashimi. Sashimi is like sushi but it is only the fish with nothing else.

During the beginning of the pandemic, this restaurant was, sadly, heavily avoided. The restaurant was getting so little attention that it was close to going out of business.

Thankfully, the business has been lifted up recently by many sushi lovers around Pittsburgh. The restaurant has been going strong for about 10 years now.

It’s quite a surprise to find such a good restaurant squeezed in between a tire store and a printer store.

The in-person eat ins were wonderful before the pandemic. The sushi platter was previously named the “sushi boat” and was served on a real, mini wooden boat.

So, if you are a big fan of sushi, this is the place to go.
