‘Dopamine’: a pleasurable listening experience

If you don’t know the song “Electric Love” by now, you either live under a rock, or you listen to strictly rap.

Dopamine, BORNS’ debut studio album, is up-beat and fun with an electronic twist to it.

The album features his hit single “Electric Love” which has been featured in a few films, like Nerve starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco. The album debuted in 2015 on October 16, with 11 songs to choose from.

The song “American Money” is one of my personal favorites, as it has a lower tone and you can clearly hear the drums and different sounds coming together. In the middle of the song, there is a short, 16-second guitar solo which is absolutely my favorite part about the song, because of how different it is compared to his other songs. You just feel this sense of being young and free when you listen to it.

The album features many more songs like “American Money;” however, each song has its own kind of sound to it.

Garrett Borns, better known as BORNS, is from Grand Haven, Michigan, and is 24 years old.
