Artist of The Week: Nevada Color
A band coming from our own Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nevada Color takes the Indie-Pop genre to a whole new level. Their lyrics express many different stories and adventures.
The band first started in the year 2012, but released their first official song “I Am An Animal” as a single in 2013. The song has a pump up beat along with a great guitar sound to it.
Following the single release was Nevada Color’s first EP release of Sharkey Lewis. This includes great songs such as first and second tracks “Sweet Adventurer” and “Lucy.”
Nevada Color played many amazing shows through Pittsburgh, and eventually started to visit other states such as New York, Maryland, and Virginia.
Nevada Color released a three-part album Adventures throughout 2014, expanding their amazing song selection.
The band toured around a few states for the album, and opened up for Tokyo Police Club in Pittsburgh. They have also preformed with bands such as Step Rockets, Miniature Tigers, and Youngblood Hawke.
Along with their great music making, Nevada Color has great mind thinking and inspiration for their songs. On the band’s Facebook page, they write, “When asked what the meaning of Adventures is, songwriter and rhythm guitarist Max Kovalchuk replies with ‘life.'” The band also describes their adventures as everyday things that you come upon when you walk out of the front door.
The bands’ personal experiences inspire them to write their catchy music and lyrics.
As for the future, it is unknown. Hopefully, Nevada Color continues making music and blowing the minds of fans and making Pittsburgh proud.
