Meet Morticia Addams
Morticia Addams is the wife of Gomez Addams and the mother of Wednesday and Pugsley Addams. She is the real “head” of the Addams family as she is a witty, strong willed woman. It is very important to her that her husband, Gomez, keeps no secrets from her.
“She believes everything should be her way or no way, and it’s really interesting watching her have to deal with some conflict in the show that she doesn’t have control over, and how she has to overcome that,” Alea Taylor said.
“She is a fiercely protective mother who is never afraid to defend her family. Alluring and strong, she is a powerful character who knows her place in the world,” Clara McGough said.

She will be played by juniors Alea Taylor and Clara McGough.
When asked about her experience in past shows, Taylor said: “I was in ‘Cinderella’ last year and the experience I had with that was unlike any other, I met the most amazing people and really got to express myself on stage in a way I never had got to before. I had so much fun making those memories, and having so much support from my cast mates and family was incredible.”
Taylor played Madame in “Cinderella” in her sophomore year. She has also done three plays at BPHS. She was Violet in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” her freshman year, Rheba in “You Can’t Take It With You” her sophomore year, and Vivian in “The Last Christmas Radio Show,” a show written by Mrs. Cortney Williams, this year.
Taylor has also been in numerous shows at IMS and Little Lake Theatre.
“This show is so funny and wacky and features the most quirky family you could possibly imagine, and getting to be able to play Morticia just feels absolutely unreal. I cannot wait to play this character, she’s such a comedic and strong woman, and it’s going to be incredible getting to be her,” Taylor said.

When asked about her feelings on playing Morticia, McGough said: “I could not be more excited about having the opportunity to play Morticia….She really is unlike any other character I’ve ever played and is certainly going to be one of my all-time favorites!”

Previously, McGough has performed in 4 musicals at BPHS. Before she entered high school she was given the opportunity to play Young Fiona in “Shrek” in fifth grade and Young Maria in “West Side Story” in third grade. When she entered high school, she played Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” her freshman year and Ella in “Cinderella” her sophomore year.
McGough has also performed in shows at IMS, Little Lake Theatre, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, Front Porch Theatricals, and she is a solo vocalist with River City Brass Band as well as a member of Top 21 and chamber orchestra at BPHS.

“Each one of these performances has made such a huge impact on my life and constantly reminds me why this is my passion,” McGough said.
Both Taylor and McGough are beyond excited to play Morticia Addams in the spring.
Meet Wednesday Addams
Wednesday Addams is the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams and the sister of Puglsey Addams, who she has a love-hate relationship with. She is the love interest of Lucas Benieke. Wednesday is a dark, sarcastic character who is not afraid to make her voice heard. She shares her father’s big heart and her mother’s wit.
She will be played by senior Elizabeth Robinson and junior Meghan DeHaven.

Robinson said: “I am so excited to put on this show because this musical is wickedly funny and the songs are so captivating. Portraying Wednesday will be such a fun experience for me and I can’t wait to play such a fun and unique character.”
She is a senior and has previously been in two shows, “Guys and Dolls” her freshman year and “Cinderella” her junior year. She was in the ensemble for both of those shows.
“Ensemble was really fun and a great experience and I made really great memories performing,” Robinson said.

Along with doing musicals, Robinson is a Majorette in the marching band and a member of Top 21.
“I remember seeing this show at West Allegheny High School when I was in middle school and I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to play Wednesday because I love to sing and she has many amazing songs, such as Pulled and Crazier Than You, that I can’t wait to sing,” DeHaven said.
DeHaven is a junior and has done two musicals at BPHS. Her freshman year she played Marcy Park in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and in her sophomore year she played Charlotte in “Cinderella.”

When asked about her experience in past shows, DeHaven said: “I can’t imagine a world where I haven’t done the BPHS musicals. Every show that I have done here has been special to me as I have made spectacular memories and life-long friends.”
DeHaven also performed in her first fall play this year where she played Donna in “The Last Christmas Radio Show,” a show written by Mrs. Cortney Williams.
While juggling plays and musicals, DeHaven is a Bethette squad leader in the marching band and a member of Top 21.
Both Robinson and DeHaven are ecstatic to play Wednesday Addams in the spring.
