Meet Grandma
Grandma is the wise, quirky, and funny mother of Gomez Addams. She is 102 years old and is a comic relief in the show. She looks out for everyone in the family, especially Pugsley.
She will be played by junior Lacie Scheidler and sophomore Carly Dowell.
Scheidler has been in one other musical at BPHS. She was a Featured Dancer in “Cinderella” in her sophomore year.
She also has performed in a play at BPHS. She performed as Sally in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” her freshman year.
“Both of these experiences were amazing and helped me grow in my acting and dancing skills. I could not imagine life without dance and music. I have met some of my best friends in musicals at BPHS,” Scheidler said.
Scheidler also performed in shows at IMS.
Additionally, Scheidler was in the stage crew for “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” her freshman year.
Aside from musicals, Scheidler is a dancer, a Bethette squad leader in the marching band, and a member of Top 21 and symphonic band. She currently studies dance at Kickline Dance Center and has been dancing for 14 years.
“Being able to be surrounded by the people who have the same passion for theater as I do is truly something wonderful,” Dowell said about her experience in BPHS musicals.
She was in one other musical at BPHS as she was in the ensemble of “Cinderella” her freshman year.
Dowell also performed in multiple shows at IMS and she got to perform with the Pittsburgh Opera in “La Boheme” at the Benedum Center.
As well as musicals, Dowell is the president of the Ways and Means class of 2025 and she plays the flute in the marching band.
Both Scheidler and Dowell are elated to play Grandma in the spring!
