Looking to make your October even spookier? Well, don’t worry, because the Bean and Berry has you covered! Through Oct 31. the Bean is serving new-themed drinks. The drinks are Cobweb Cooler, Vampire Blood Lemonade, Witch’s Cauldron Lemonade, and Ghost Iced Coffee.

The Cobweb Cooler is a lemonade or refresher that has a spooky surprise. A spider! No, not a real spider, but a plastic spider. The spider comes resting on the top of the drink, which gives it a cool look. The customer can choose between lemonade or iced tea for their drink, making this drink more versatile.

The Vampire Blood Lemonade is a lemonade with red flavoring. The customer can pick if they want cherry or strawberry flavoring to be the “blood” in their drink. But this isn’t just any flavored lemonade, it also comes with plastic vampire teeth. Refreshing but also ghoulish, this drink is perfect for anyone who wants a spookier alternative to their regular lemonade!

The Witch’s Cauldron Lemonade is just a regular lemonade. But what makes it a cauldron you ask? This lemonade has the addition of gummy eyeballs and worms, just like a sinister cauldron. The extra candy is a nice feature of the lemonade, and there is no better holiday for extra candy than Halloween!

Lastly, the only coffee on this ghostly menu is the Ghost Iced Coffee. This coffee features spooky marshmallow fluff ghosts on the inside, and it is topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. This is perfect for lovers of caffeine!

Whenever you think of putting a bag on someone's head, think of Alexandra Thunborg, as Nina, in this year's Fall Play! Alexandra Thunborg is a senior and a new member of the Hawk Eye staff. When asked about why she joined, she explained, "My friend recommended it to me, and I'm interested in writing newspaper articles." Alexandra's favorite topic to write about for the newspaper is stories about the school and upcoming events the school has planned, whether it is about the German Club or Fall Play. Besides writing articles for Hawk Eye, Alexandra can be seen snapping photos of students for the yearbook around the school. Speaking of Fall Play, this is Alexandra's first year performing in "The Day The Internet Died," as Nina-- a very hyper social media user who cannot handle not having access to Instagram! One fun fact about Alexandra is that she is pescatarian, which means the only meat she eats is fish! Alexandra is a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter, with her two favorite songs "Coincidence" and "Good Graces." Alexandra enjoys these two songs because of the catchy lyrics and unique sound of Carpenter's music genius. After high school, Alexandra plans to go to Mercyhurst University to study Criminal Justice. It's only 7 a.m? Who could possibly be screaming “So Much Better” from the "Legally Blonde Musical" in the halls? Why, it's senior Haley Uselman, one of the newest additions to the Hawk Eye staff! Though it is only her first year, Haley is ambitious to begin her work as part of the yearbook and newspaper crew. When asked why she is taking Scholastic Publications, she stated, “I was interested in the class because I like taking photos, and I'm passionate about the yearbook.” After school hours, you can find Haley in the auditorium student directing this year's play, "The Day The Internet Died." This is her first year directing, but Haley has been involved in the Fall Play since her sophomore year when she played Mrs. Marlowe. You also may recognize her from playing Portia the dancing fairy in last year's play "A Second Star." When she's not acting her heart out on stage, Haley can be seen slinging frozen Yogurt at Cowtastic. Haley is also passionate about music and musicals. You can always hear her singing a song from a musical, usually "Legally Blonde," as that is her favorite. She also adores "The Great Gatsby Musical." When asked which famous person she would pick to have dinner with, Haley beamed, "Noah J. Ricketts, but only under stage lights, and only as Nick Carraway." Once high school is over, Haley wants to major in business, and then go to law school. Although she has not decided which school she wants to attend, her top picks are Clemson University, Elon University, and Wake Forest University. After her years of schooling, she wants to be a lawyer. But the future is far away, and for now, get ready for some awesome additions to Hawk Eye, and give a warm welcome to Haley Uselman!
