Fantastically Fabulous Feature: Paige Ott’s super sleek hair
From the BP Girls Tennis Team, junior Paige Ott is being featured as this week’s Fantastically Fabulous Feature! Paige is being recognized for her super sleek, healthy hair. Congrats, Paige!
Between shuffling on the tennis courts to working at the Paramount, Ott keeps her hair tamed and maintained throughout the entire year.
It is known that, especially in winter, your hair can become very brittle and dry from the cold weather and that constant blow-drying really takes a toll on it. However, Ott says that cutting down on the shampoo use can in fact keep your hair looking and feeling less dehydrated and damaged throughout the season.
“I suggest washing your hair every two to three days so it doesn’t dry out,” Ott said.
“I use green apple Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner,” she added.
It’s understandable that with the temperatures dropping and the holidays right around the corner, it’s frustrating when trying to tame frizz without adding heat to your hair.
“Heat can really damage your hair, especially if you do apply it on a day-to-day basis,” Ott said.
She either will blow-dry, straighten, or curl her hair every day no matter what.
“It’s important to use any kind of heat protecting spray before applying any kind of heat or iron to your hair. It’ll cut down on the amount of damage and keep it staying nice and shiny, without the drying effect,” Ott added.
In addition to cutting down on the shampoo use and using heat protector spray, Ott suggested staying on top of getting your hair trimmed in order to keep your hair healthy.
“I get my haircut every six weeks just to cut away the damage from all the heat,” she said.
She mentions that the trimming is an essential part of maintaining healthy hair because you are cutting off your damaged split ends and letting your hair breath.
Also, dying your hair can make a huge impact on how healthy or not it is or can be. The amount of dyes and chemicals can damage your hair over time. However, Ott has dyed her hair before and as long as you maintain it, it should not do too much damage.
When asked what color she would love to dye her hair, Ott said, “Blonde. When I was younger, I used to have really blonde hair so I would say back to its original color.”
“I really look up to Aspyn Ovard. She’s a YouTuber who does tutorials and vlogs,” Ott said.
Aside from hair, Ott said that her greatest high school memory so far has been being on the tennis team.
“My goal before I graduate would probably be getting good grades in all of my classes,” Ott commented.
Congrats Paige on being this week’s Fantastically Fabulous Feature!
