Student Musician of the Week: Claire Makowski
Senior Claire Makowski is involved in Concert Choir, Top 21, and AP Music Theory, and she has previously been a part of Girls’ Choir.
She began playing the piano in third grade and became serious about singing in eighth grade through her role as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music. Today, her main focus is singing and her voice part is Soprano 1.
Makowski hopes to continue her music career as a high school choir teacher.
“The experience I had at Bethel affected me so much that I knew that was the path for me!” she said.
Makowski gets her inspiration from her grandmother, who originally introduced her to what music is.
She is also inspired by BPHS music teacher Mr. K, about whom she said, “He saw something in me that I never knew was possible, and he was the one that brought out the musician I am today.”
Makowski received the award for best accompanist her sophomore year for her piano performance at a Girls’ Freshman Choir competition.
She was recently a part of PMEA District Choir, Regional Choir, and All-State Choir.
