Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada. What do these countries all have in common? All are places Chloey Mazza-King has visited! Traveling is one of her passions, and she loves learning about different cultures and foods the most. Her biggest aspiration for the future is to travel the world.

Chloey is in ninth grade. This is her first year in Scholastic Publications. 

Chloey likes to hear about differing viewpoints. She joined Scholastic Publications to write articles about opinions and social events. In middle school, she was a host for the morning announcements. 

After school, you can spot Chloey spending time with her five dogs or cooking new dishes.

Cooking has always been a hobby of hers. Her grandma taught her how to when she was younger. Her favorite dish to make is tomato soup.

However, Chloey admits, “I absolutely cannot bake.”  

As for the current Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad debate from “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” Chloey takes the side of Jeremiah. She reasons that Jeremiah leads the main character, Belly, in a better direction than Conrad. 

Her favorite song is “Beach House/Master of None.” Chloey finds the song calming. 

Her go-to Starbucks order would have to be a Venti Dragonfruit Lemonade. She also enjoys an iced matcha from time-to-time.

This school year, Chloey is most excited about homecoming. 

“I love any excuse to dress up!” she says.

Finally, when asked for one word to describe herself, Chloey chose the word “friendly.”
