Hawks baseball faced Upper St. Clair for part two of their match at Boyce Mayview Field on March 26! The Hawks walked away with a 7-6 win!
Leading the Hawks to the win were sophomore Ben Thomas, who had a walk-off hit to score junior Chase White, senior Nick Rillo, who hit a double to score two runs and tie the game, and Caden Stokes, who tallied four hits!
“Coming into the game, we knew USC was a good team. Our plan was to work back slowly because we were down. We just kept chipping away, and everyone did their job at the end of the game to get on base and make their plays on the end of the field. And the pitchers did a nice job,” said sophomore Ben Thomas (No. 23, OF/RHP).
The Hawks were down 6-2 after six innings, but by the bottom of the sixth inning, the Hawks scored four runs to tie the game! This ultimately led to a 7-6 win against USC, improving their win streak to five games in a row!
The next game is on Monday, March 30, at 4 p.m! Located at Purkey Field, it will also be Youth Night!
Youth players from T-ball and up will be recognized during the game. After, they will get to run bases and play catch with the varsity team after they score another win!
