And another home run from Weber!
Kaelyn Weber, a senior captain of the Bethel Park slow-pitch softball team, is an outstanding student-athlete. In addition to her success on the softball field, she competed on the rifle team and is a proud member of the National Honor Society. Kaelyn represents the very best of the student body at Bethel Park, maintaining a 4.1 GPA.
When asked why softball, Kaelyn responded with, “I chose softball because it’s something I’ve done all of my life and is very important to me. It’s a fun sport, we have a good team, and I believe we deserve more representation.”
Her favorite memory of high school is the team’s most recent softball season, where they 10-run ruled almost every opponent they played and ended up with a record of 14-2.
Off the field, Kaelyn excelled on the Bethel Park rifle team, having had perfect 100-10x rounds in the WPIAL rifle championship and throughout the season. She was one of the team’s top shooters, shooting with over a 95% accuracy.
Kaelyn also reflected on her time in NHS and why it has meant so much to her over the past three years. “I’m glad to be a part of the National Honor Society. It gives me good motivation to go out and help our community while interacting with other members of the club and keeping my grades up.”
As her time at Bethel Park High School comes to an end, Kaelyn wanted to share advice to upcoming students: “Do everything in your life on your own terms. Be proud of who you are and what you do. Your life should never be determined by what others think of you.”
Already committed to the University of Pittsburgh, Kaelyn plans to major in physical therapy, wanting to help those who are injured and share the beneficial experiences she had with her own physical therapists. “They made it feel fun even though I was upset about not being able to play softball due to my back injury.”
Congratulations, Kaelyn, and good luck at Pitt!
