That’s another win for the Bethel Park Black Hawks!
After an impressive 13-1 regular season record, the Bethel Park girls varsity slow-pitch team is headed to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Softball League (WPISL) semi-finals with confidence and momentum.
From their first game, the team has demonstrated focus, determination, and a strong bond that has only strengthened through close matchups and tough opponents.
Team Captain and third baseman, Rylee Nanni, remarks, “Everyone’s positive attitude and hard work have helped build our bond both on and off the field.”
Throughout the season, the players demonstrated incredible teamwork and growth. Their consistent hitting, sharp defense, and unwavering willpower helped them dominate the field and earned them the number one defense and offense in the league.
Last Saturday, Oct. 18, marked the girls’ first playoff win against Mount Lebanon. The team will advance to play North Allegheny at McIntyre Field in North Hills on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the semi-finals.
If everything goes to plan, they will play the victor of Hempfield Area and Montour in the championship game later that day.
As the team looks ahead to the playoffs, they also take a moment to celebrate this year’s seniors — Allison Atchison, Rylee Nanni, Sadie Nelson, and Kaelyn Weber — who have left a lasting mark on the program through their leadership and energy. Their dedication and love for the game have set an example for the younger players to follow.
While it’s bittersweet to see them go, the team is proud of everything they’ve accomplished together.
Left center Sadie Nelson says, “I’m so thankful to my team for making my fourth and final year on varsity the best one yet.”
With a 14-1 total record, the girls slowpitch softball team has shown what dedication, teamwork, and passion can achieve. Regardless of the outcome, the 2025 fall season will be remembered as a special one, defined by teamwork, success, and an unforgettable senior class.
