Lady Hawks soccer gets redemption against Canon Mac

Keeps playoff hopes alive

The girls soccer team kept their playoff aspirations alive on Wednesday night with a decisive 2-0 victory against section rivals Canon-Mac.

This victory marked a significant turnaround against the Lady Macs, as the Hawks had previously succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in their September encounter.

Just 10 minutes into the match, Artemis Conaboy made a pivotal contribution by securing the first goal for the Lady Hawks, capitalizing on a precision corner kick from Callee Dalbon.

In less than a minute, Grace Ferency orchestrated a skillful play, delivering a precise pass across the box to Callee Dalbon, who expertly placed it into the back of the net.

This double score solidified Bethel’s 2-0 lead, which held firm as the teams headed into halftime.

During the second half, the Lady Hawks showcased unwavering defensive prowess and exceptional goalkeeping, thanks to the collective efforts of Sam Shields, Alex Francus, Olivia Dawson, Sydney Felicetti, and Mallory Kuntz.

Looking ahead, the team faces a  matchup against South Park on Saturday, followed by a critical return to section play against Mt. Lebanon on Monday.

While the Blue Devils emerged victorious with a 3-0 scoreline in their previous encounter, the Lady Hawks’ recent performance against Canon Mac signals a resolute pursuit of redemption as they keep their eyes fixated on a spot in the playoffs.
