Hawks take sole possession of section title

Friday scores hat trick

On the eve of Friday, the 13th, Jackson Friday, donning the number 13 jersey, displayed an exceptional performance by netting three goals in the Hawks’ commanding 4-1 victory over Ringgold.

This triumph holds significant weight for the Hawks, as it secured their undisputed claim to the section title and marked a historic milestone—their first section title win since 2013.

In the early stages of the contest, Friday showcased his scoring prowess with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a beautifully threaded through-ball courtesy of Dylan DeClair.

Without delay, Friday found the back of the net again, connecting with a well-executed through-ball delivered by Adam Thompson.

Before the close of the first half, Friday’s impressive hat-trick granted the Hawks a resounding 3-0 lead as they entered halftime.

The second half witnessed Xavier Jackson adding a fourth goal to the Hawks’ tally, masterfully assisted by Adam Thompson.

Although Ringgold managed to sneak a goal past the vigilant goalkeeper, Luke Rubican, in the waning moments, it proved futile.

The Hawks concluded their section play unscathed with a remarkable record of 13-0-1, solidifying their dominance. Their journey continues with one more regular-season game scheduled for Tuesday against Canon Mac before the eagerly awaited playoffs.
