The boys varsity soccer team played three games in five days and won all three.
On Saturday morning, the Hawks traveled to Cupples Stadium in the South Side for a non-section match with 4A Brashear. They went up early 2-0 thanks to the efforts of Arpan Gurung and Henry Gaston. Brashear made it interesting after reversing some of the momentum with a goal of their own. But the Hawks responded with a goal from Youssef Benrabia followed by another one from Xavier Jackson two minutes later. Tommy Bova scored the next goal to make it 5-1 Hawks, and from there they never looked back. At halftime, the score was 7-1. By the game’s end, the footballers from Bethel Park scored 12 goals.
Two days prior, the Hawks made the long journey to Laurel Highlands to face the Mustangs. In very rainy conditions, they held onto a 2-0 lead after halftime to get the win. Henry Gaston and Adam Thompson had scored the lone two goals of the game. The defense consisting of Luke Yimin, Dylan DeClair, Carmin Yimin, and Gavin DeClair and goalkeeper Luke Rubican secured the shutout for the Hawks.
And then, of course, there was the 2-1 overtime thriller against Trinity that took place at home on Tuesday.
With these three wins, the Hawks improve their record to 11-1-1 overall and 10-0-1 in the section.
The Hawks play Albert Gallatin at home on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The Hawks won 4-1 in their previous contest.
