The recreation ultimate frisbee team is in need of players. They need football players, basketball players, anyone.

Games start in March. Practices are on Wednesdays and Sundays. The team typically practices after school on Wednesdays at the turf fields until 4 p.m. and at Village Green field behind Best Buy on Sundays.

Familiar foes the ultimate frisbee team has faced include USC, Peters, Mars, Central Catholic, North Allegheny, and Obama.

Notable players on the team include seniors Alex Sodini, Aidan Tarr, Xavier Gaefke, Jake Dudjak, Joey Bova, Mark Vighetti, James Counihan and Logan Zivic and juniors Bree Hayes, DJ Lucidor, Ethan Sherman and Michael Walsh.

Captain Xavier Gaefke said: “Joining the Frisbee team has been a blast! Not only have I met new people from around the area, but I’ve built strong relationships with members of the team. I can’t wait to see what the team brings to the table this year, and we hope to win it all!”

Senior Mark Vighetti said: “I joined the team last year and I was not sure what to expect other than to have fun with my friends. We had our ups and downs, but we prevailed and went undefeated in the regular season. Unfortunately, we lost in the semi-finals, but we plan to win this year.”
