The Detroit Red Wings would ultimately prevail in this preseason match by a score of 6 to 1 over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.

After an impressive 3-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday night, the 5X time Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins will begin a home-at-home series against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The Red Wings are just finishing up a three-game homestand that began with a 4-0 shutout win against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, March 29; a 6-3 win against the Boston Bruins on Sunday, March 31; and ends with a match-up against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, April 2.

The Red Wings are now 31-38-10 and are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division.

The Penguins just finished up a two-game homestand that began with a 3-1 loss against the Nashville Predators on Friday, March 29 and ended with a 3-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, March 31.

The Penguins are now 43-25-11 and are in third place in the Metropolitan Division and are two points away from clinching a playoff spot in the 2019 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS for the 13th consecutive season.

When Tuesday night comes around, the Penguins and Red Wings will meet for the second time this season. These two teams last played in Pittsburgh on December 27 in which Pittsburgh won that game by the score of 5-2.

Even though the Penguins still have injuries to Kris Letang, Zach Aston Reese, Evgeni Malkin, and Chad Ruhwedel, it should be an entertaining game on Tuesday night in Detroit as the Penguins look to win two games in a row and to move two points and be tied with the New York Islanders and to move three points behind the Metropolitan Division Leaders the Washington Capitals and inch closer to winning the greatest trophy in all of sports, the STANLEY CUP.
