On Thursday, Feb. 7, the Lady Hawks defeated the Baldwin Highlanders, 68-39, in one of their last games of the regular season.

The Lady Hawks started out strong with a 23-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Highlanders finished with 24 points at the end of the half, only scoring 15 more total points in the second due to the Lady Hawks’ remarkable defense.

Four of the Lady Hawks were in double digits– Olivia Westphal led with 22, Maddie Dziezgowski with 18, and Maria Cerro and Emma Dziezgowski chipped in 10 points.

The girls basketball team improves their record to 11-2 in section play and 18-2 overall.

The Lady Hawks will travel to Connellsville at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 to play their last section game.

They will also host North Catholic on Monday, Feb. 24 for their last non-section game as the Hawks look to lock up the third seed for playoffs.
