Hawks celebrate after a goal in their game against Seneca Valley on Nov. 1.

The Hawks ice hockey team faced off against North Allegheny for the second time this season. Having already lost to N.A., the Hawks were seeking vengeance. After three complete periods, the Hawks emerged victorious with a score of 3-1.

With N.A. dominating the AAA division, the Hawks came into this game as the underdogs.

This was apparently unknown to the Hawks, as sophomore Joey Wandrisco scored to give the Hawks the 1-0 lead. This goal was the only goal for the first two periods.

Then, in the third period, the Hawks began to find their offensive rhythm. This allowed for senior JC Bele to net two more goals for the Hawks. This was just enough to allow the Hawks to claw out a 3-1 win against the previously very dominate N.A.

In response to his two goals on the night, senior JC Bele said, “Couldn’t have had those goals without my linies and my team.”

With this win, the Hawks extend their record to 8-4 in the regular season. They have a very intense schedule over the next few weeks, with two regular season match-ups in the next week alone. The Hawks next regular season game comes against Seneca Valley on Monday, Jan. 21 at Seneca.
