Pens host Stars Wednesday night
After they lost for the fourth consecutive time and ninth time in the last 10 games Monday night, the Pens look to wish upon a star for a win as they host Dallas on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.
The Stars had an unexpected 2017-2018 season as they missed the playoffs for the second straight consecutive season. The Stars finished the 2017-2018 season in sixth place in the Central Division with 92 points, which consisted of 42 wins, 32 losses, and 8 overtime losses.
They are finishing up a brief three-game road trip that went through Brooklyn on Sunday night (W 6-2), New York on Tuesday night (L 2-1), and now in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. They are 11-8-2 and in fifth place in the Central Division.
The Pens are coming off a disappointing 5-4 overtime loss against the Buffalo Sabers on Monday night. They are 7-8-4 and in eighth place in the Metropolitan Division.
When Wednesday night comes around, the Penguins and the Stars will meet for the first time this season, then they will play each other again in Dallas on March 23.
Even though Dallas has a lot of players injured, it should be an entertaining game on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh as it’s kind of a must-win for the Pens.
