Hawks battle the Central Catholic Vikings on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The boys varsity ice hockey team claimed yet another victory on Monday, Nov. 5. The Hawks traveled to Butler to take on the Golden Tornadoes. The game was a lopsided victory for the Hawks, with a score of 5-1.

When asked about the team, captain Vincent Vituccio had this to say: “ This year’s team is definitely the closest-knit group of guys we’ve had in a while. That chemistry carries over to our in-game performance and has helped us close out some tough teams so far.”

The Hawks took an early lead with a goal from Vituccio, only three minutes into the game.

The Hawks kept pressure on with two more goals in the second period, one from senior Connor Price and the other was a power play goal from Vittucio. These made the score 3-0 going in the third period.

In the final period of play, the Hawks scored two more goals which came from senior JC Bele on the power play and yet another from Vituccio.

This was Vittucio’s third goal of the night giving him the first hat-trick of the season. With these three goals, Vittucio becomes the scoring leader for the Hawks with six total goals.

Butler ended up finally scoring late on their power play, resulting in a final score of 5-1 in favor of the Hawks.

This tallied another victory onto the Hawks’ season.

They are now 4-1 overall and will face Cathedral Prep on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. at the YMCA.

Keep up with the Hawks here.
