Boys golf ready for playoff push
The Black Hawks have a huge week ahead of them, playing section foes the Highlanders of Baldwin and the Blue Devils of Mount Lebanon, who as of right now, sits ahead of them in the section.
The Black Hawks sit in third place, with a section record of 6-2 and an overall record of 6-4. Two of those losses came from Baldwin and Mount Lebanon themselves.
The match against the Highlanders is set for this Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Mount Lebanon Golf Course at 3 p.m., while the match against Mount Lebanon is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21 at Scenic Valley also at 3 p.m..
With a win against Baldwin, they can punch their ticket to the WPIAL playoffs.
Last time around, Baldwin won 215-233 at Scenic valley against the Black Hawks.
“This could be the end of the season. We do not need to put too much pressure on ourselves. Just play our game and we should be alright,” senior and team captain Andrew Evans said.
The Hawks are also coming off the individual section qualifiers hosted at Scenic Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 18. They did not qualify anyone, but the low round of the team came from sophomore John Harmon, with a solid 85, four shots from qualifying.
The Black Hawks hope to add another event on their schedule by pulling out the win against Baldwin.
