On Saturday, Feb. 3, the boys varsity basketball team traveled to North Allegheny for a non-section game. In the end, the Hawks got the dub.

At halftime, the Hawks were down by 34-26, but that all changed by the end of the 3rd quarter. Bethel scored twenty-seven points in the 3rd quarter and were up 53-44 headed into the 4th quarter.

The boys held their lead to the end. The final score was 69-58.

The high scorer was junior guard Alex Mullen with a career high 33 points.

“My teammates had the biggest part in getting me into a rhythm throughout the game,” said Mullen.

The Hawks had a total of 12 threes. This was the third straight game they had 10 plus three pointers.

The Hawks improve their overall record to 11-8 and remain 6-4 in their section. Their next section game is at Connellsville (2-9, 9-11) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

They close out section play on Friday, Feb. 9 against Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. at The Nest. It’s also senior night.
