Lady Hawks take big bite out of the Big Macs
On Thursday night, the Lady Hawks improved their record after a section win over Canon Mac with a score of 50-37.
The Lady Hawks played with confidence and kept the lead the entire game.
Maria Cerro led the team with 20 points, Olivia Westphal with 12, and Maddie Dziegowski had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
“They couldn’t guard us,” said junior Maria Cerro.
With the win, they are now tied for first in their section. Peters Township holds the other spot.
The girls basketball team is now 3-1 in section and 8-3 overall and are pumped to play undefeated non-section Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic in the Pittsburgh Classic on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 4:30 PM at Ambridge.
