The girls’ volleyball team took on the Pine Richland Rams on Monday, Sept. 18. Unfortunately, the girls lost in four sets in enemy territory for this non-section match-up.

“The match was not sauce,” simply put junior setter Emma Puzausky.

The Lady Hawks started off strong, winning the first set 25-23. The Rams then took the following three sets to seal their victory. They won 25-18, 25-17, and 26-24. The Black Hawks almost had them in the fourth to force the match to go a tie-breaker fifth set, but they could not close with point exchanges going back and forth between the two teams.

The JV team continued their win streak into the weekend by claiming the championship crown at the Penn Trafford Invitational. Their momentum carried into the face off against the Rams where they won 2-1. The JV squad maintains their perfect record, and it now stands at 5-0.

The varsity team is now 2-3 and remain winless outside their first week in play. They now have an overall record of 2-3, a section record of 1-2, and a non-section record of 1-1.

The Lady Hawks come back home on Tuesday, Sept. 19 for Spirit Night against the Mount Lebanon Blue Devils in a section match! Games and prizes will be happening between the play, so bring all your friends out to support the girls’ volleyball team! Some players still have admission tickets to hand out, so try to snatch one to get in for free! Also, all girls wearing their camp T-shirts or school jerseys will be permitted free admission as well.

Go Hawks and see everyone at the Mt. Lebanon game!
