Lady Hawks take on WPIAL Championship
Friday morning, students and staff were greeted by parents of the Lady Hawks basketball team cheering on their girls with signs and chants. Joining them were two police cars with lights flashing.
The excitement of the morning began the countdown to the girls’ basketball WPIAL 6-A Championship game on Saturday at 7 PM.
In the semifinals, the ladies knocked off Penn Hills 41-36. In the game beforehand against Pine Richland, the girls also took home a big win.
The championship against North Allegheny will take place on Pitt’s campus at the Petersen Events Center. Bethel is ranked seventh with their 19-6 record. North Allegheny has a 23-1 record and is ranked number one. This game will be very competitive considering the talent of both teams.
Students attending are asked to wear all black to participate in the blackout theme.
