Athlete of the Week: Cameron Happe
This week’s Athlete of the Week is senior Cameron Happe. Happe is an attacker on the BPHS girls’ lacrosse team.
She has been playing lacrosse for six years. She started on her lacrosse journey because her friends played.
“My favorite lacrosse memory is when I had three seconds left in the half and I spent three seconds faking out the goalie and it went in after the buzzer which meant it didn’t count,” Happe said.
After this year Happe will be attending West Chester University but is unsure if she will continue her lacrosse career or not. “I think I would miss it if I didn’t play.”
For the 2017 season, Happe hopes to see the team run more offensive plays and be more aggressive attack-wise. She believes that if the team practices hard, they can achieve this. “Practice makes perfect.”
Happe encourages younger players and anyone who’s interested to try out for the team. Her advice to younger players is to not take it too seriously and just focus on having fun.
If you or anyone you know is interested in trying girls’ lacrosse, you can find more info here or in the BPHS Athletic Office.
